512MB Ram

• Please note if 512Mb ram is enough. Today's applications are demanding especially Windows Vista and many antivirus programs take much of the computers resources.
  (We recommed 512 MB Ram to 1GB RAm for Windows XP and a minimum of 2GB Ram for Windows Vista)

• Recognize the correct speed of the desired memory needed by the motherboard
  (If you do not know, check the computer manufacturer's website under the model number of the machine. (eg. 400mhz, 800mhz). Also note if pairs of ram are needed.)
• Alternative to website search is to check your existing Ram memory in the computer (NOT recommended for beginners)
  1. Shut off computer and unplug the power. Touch metal opening computer to destaticize yourself.
  2. Take a screw driver and open up the lid of the computer.
  3. Note the number of empty memory slots and then take out memory by opening latches on both sides. Handle with care and write down informaiton on white sticker.
  4. Put memory back and close computer.
• Now you can shop around for the memory by first searching for the exact information on the white sticker of Ram or by inputing the information found on the manufacturer's website. We recommend 512Mb Ram memory manufacturers such as Kingston and IBM / Lenovo.
